Three injured after elevator collapse in Soran
SORAN– An elevator collapse at a commercial building in Soran, Erbil, injured three women late Saturday night, hospital officials and local authorities said.
The incident occurred at 10:13 p.m. on the second floor of a building on Kawa Street that houses the market.
Dr. Baravan Sabah, director of Ashti Emergency Hospital in Soran, told 964media, “The three individuals injured in the elevator collapse were all women and have been transferred to our hospital.”
He added, “The injured have bodily fractures, but their health condition is stable and there is no threat to their lives.”
According to information from 964media’s correspondent in Soran, one of the injured women is an employee at the market. Their ages are 40, 22, and 20.
Rawand Hawdiyani, spokesperson for the Soran Civil Defense Department, told 964media that the collapse was caused by a failure in the elevator shaft system.
