Cloudy skies and light rain expected in central and southern Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s General Meteorological Authority forecast partly to mostly cloudy conditions across the country today, with a chance of light rain showers during the night in parts of the central and southern regions.

According to the agency’s weather prediction department, temperatures are expected to remain close to yesterday’s levels in central areas and the Kurdistan Region, with a slight decrease in some areas. Southern regions may see a slight rise in temperatures.

Winds will generally blow from the northwest at light to moderate speeds between 10 and 20 km/h, with occasional calm periods and fluctuations in the north. In western parts of the country, winds are expected to shift to southeasterly at night.

Horizontal visibility will range between 8 and 10 kilometers during the day but may drop to 5–7 kilometers in the morning due to mist formation.
