25-year-old Garmian student missing after motorcycle found abandoned in Kalar
KALAR — A 25-year-old resident of Kelari Kon in Kalar district has been missing since Sunday evening after his motorcycle was discovered abandoned under a bridge, prompting his family to appeal for public help.
Mahdi Mohammed, a fourth-year physics student at the University of Garmian, left home on the evening of Nov. 16 and did not return. His father, Mohammed Khali, told 964media that surveillance footage led relatives and security forces to the motorcycle. “Yesterday, Tuesday at 4 p.m., through surveillance cameras, my son’s motorcycle was found under the Gerdagozina bridge, a little distance from the block factory, but so far there is no sign of him,” he said.
Khali said the footage showed Mahdi alone. “What appeared in the cameras is that my son was by himself until reaching that place. No one was with him. He had bought juice and biscuits, but we do not know if someone was waiting for him after he left the motorcycle or if he continued alone.”
He said the scene showed no indication of an accident. “There was no trace of blood or any broken parts on the motorcycle. Nothing else was found. His mobile phone is turned off.”
The father said he has been searching with security forces. “Since yesterday we have been searching with the security forces to find my son. We are still looking,” he said, urging residents to assist.
Khali earlier told 964media that Mahdi left home after receiving a phone call and had no problems at home. Authorities have not issued updates on the case.
