Iraq weather to remain clear with mild daytime temperatures

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s meteorological authority forecast clear weather with occasional clouds across the country on Thursday, attributing the conditions to a high-pressure system centered over northern Asia.

Temperatures will remain similar to Wednesday’s levels, with slight increases in some areas. The authority said the weather will be relatively cold in the morning and at night, and mild during the day, with noticeably cooler conditions over mountainous regions.

Winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate at speeds between 10 and 20 kilometers per hour, with intermittent calm periods and shifting directions in several areas.

Horizontal visibility is expected to range from 8 to 10 kilometers across most regions, dropping to between 5 and 7 kilometers in the early morning due to haze and elevated air pollution.
