Clear skies with light rain possible in northern Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s weather will remain mostly clear Sunday, with scattered clouds and slight chances of light rainfall in central and northern areas, particularly in the Kurdistan Region, the Iraqi Meteorological Authority reported.

Forecasters said most areas are experiencing mild to cool conditions due to a cold-to-moderate air mass that has affected the country for several days. Temperatures are expected to stay close to Saturday’s levels, with cooler conditions in the early morning and across mountainous areas.

Winds will blow northwesterly at light to moderate speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, and are often expected to be calm.

Morning visibility may fall to between 2 and 4 kilometers because of dust and pollutants, the report added.
