Three arrested for impersonating security officers in job scam
DIWANIYAH — Iraq’s National Security Service has arrested three individuals in Diwaniyah and Diyala for impersonating agency officers and defrauding citizens by offering fake job appointments in exchange for money.
In a statement released Tuesday, the agency said the suspects in Diwaniyah were “caught in the act” following operations based on precise intelligence and surveillance of suspicious activity.
In Diyala, another suspect was arrested while accepting money from a citizen under the false promise of securing employment within the security service.
The National Security Service urged the public to report similar incidents through its official communication channels and warned against engaging with individuals claiming to offer government jobs in exchange for payment.
