Iraq begins humanitarian aid transport to Gaza via Egypt

BAGHDAD, October 23 — Iraq’s Air Force began transport of a first batch of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip on Monday via El Arish Airport in Egypt.

A statement from the Ministry of Defense said:

In line with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Iraqi Air Force started the transportation of the first batch of Iraqi humanitarian aid to Gaza on the morning of Monday, October 23, 2023.

This aid will be transported to El Arish Airport in Egypt, where it will be received by committees from the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Red Crescent before being transferred to the Gaza Strip.

More batches of aid will be transported subsequently.
