Iraqi national security advisor meets envoy to Syria, discusses regional ties

BAGHDAD — National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji met Sunday with Yassin Sharif, Iraq’s chargé d’affaires in Syria, to discuss regional developments and bilateral cooperation.

The meeting, held at Al-Araji’s office in Baghdad, included a review of current regional dynamics and ways to strengthen coordination between Iraq and Syria. Both officials also commended the outcomes of the 34th Arab League Summit and praised the Iraqi government’s role in organizing and hosting the event.

National Security Advisor Mr. Qasim al-Araji received Mr. Yassin Sharif, Iraq’s Chargé d’Affaires in Syria, at his office today, Sunday.

The meeting included a review of the overall situation in the region, with praise for the outcomes of the Baghdad Summit and the government’s success in hosting the event.

Mr. al-Araji also discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires ways to strengthen communication between the two neighboring countries in a manner that serves the security and stability of the region.
