White object found in bottled water prompts investigation, possible legal action
SULAYMANIYAH — A resident of Sulaymaniyah has reported discovering an unidentified white object inside a bottle of drinking water, prompting an official investigation by local authorities and the possibility of legal proceedings.
Pshko Mustafa told 964media that his family had purchased a full carton of bottled water when they noticed something strange in one of the bottles. “All the bottles in the carton looked like they were from the same batch,” he said. “I shook the bottle, but the object hadn’t blended with it.”
The discovery was made last Friday. Mustafa said he immediately delivered a sample to the district’s joint committee, describing the object as “something that does not belong in water and is potentially hazardous.” He also reported the store where the product was purchased and asked authorities to recall the remaining cartons to prevent potential harm to other consumers.
Goran Qadir, head of the Sulaymaniyah District Joint Committee, confirmed receipt of the sample and said the issue has been formally documented. “We have already notified the water plant inspection team, and they are currently investigating the object found inside the bottle,” he told 964media.
Qadir said drinking water must be “colorless, tasteless, and odorless,” adding that the object in question appears abnormal and may require lab testing. “Specialized teams will issue their findings soon, and the case will be submitted to the court for a ruling,” he said.
