Iraqi PM reaffirms support for Palestinians in call with Mahmoud Abbas
BAGHDAD — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received a phone call from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday evening, during which the two leaders exchanged Eid Al-Fitr greetings and discussed the situation of the Palestinian people, according to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office.
“Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s firm and principled stance in condemning the aggression and supporting the Palestinian people’s historical rights,” the statement read.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received a phone call this evening, Sunday, from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which they exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings.
The call included a discussion on the situation of the Palestinian people, during which Prime Minister Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s firm and principled stance in condemning the aggression and supporting the Palestinian people’s historical rights.
For his part, President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Iraq for its steadfast and supportive positions on the Palestinian cause, for providing all forms of support to the Palestinian people, and for Iraq’s efforts in promoting regional stability.
