Four killed in fiery collision near Qayyarah Junction on Mosul-Baghdad Highway

NINEVEH — A crash near the Qayyarah junction on the Mosul-Baghdad highway left four people dead and four others injured on Thursday, according to a security source.

Some of the injured remain in critical condition.

“A driver of an Opel Astra car made a sudden turn on the highway between Mosul and Baghdad near the Qayyarah junction, without noticing oncoming traffic,” the source told 964media.

Another vehicle collided with it, killing four people and injuring four others who were transported to the hospital. “Some of them are in critical condition,” the source said.

The force of the crash destroyed the Opel completely, leaving only the driver’s door intact. The other car burst into flames following the impact.
