Iraqi PM Al-Sudani, UK national security advisor discuss bilateral ties in Munich
NEWSROOM — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with the United Kingdom National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell on Saturday in Munich, Germany, to discuss bilateral relations and security cooperation, according to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani traveled to Germany on Thursday to attend the 61st Munich Security Conference, following the conclusion of his visit to Prague. During his time in the Czech capital, he met with several officials, including the Czech Prime Minister, President, and Speaker of Parliament.

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Saturday, with the United Kingdom’s National Security Advisor, Mr. Jonathan Powell, at his residence in Munich.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and security coordination between Iraq and the UK, in light of the Joint Statement on the Strategic Bilateral Defence Relationship signed during Prime Minister Al-Sudani’s visit to Britain last month.
Mr. Powell conveyed the greetings of British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to Prime Minister Al-Sudani, affirming the success of his recent visit to the UK and reiterating Britain’s commitment to ongoing coordination with Iraq on various issues, particularly those concerning the region and current developments.
