Wasit holds exhibition showcasing local talent and training program output

WASIT — The Directorate of Labor and Vocational Training in Wasit hosted an exhibition on Wednesday to showcase the products and innovations of trainees from its workshops over the past year. The event attracted wide participation from small business owners across various fields, including tailoring, food production, electrical appliance repair, mechanics, welding, and products from the Kut Textile Factory and the Technical Institute’s workshops.

Sabah Obeid, director of abor and vocational training, told 964media, “Today, we inaugurated the Business Innovation Exhibition to encourage talent and stimulate creative ideas, with wide participation from our vocational training workshops, Wasit University, the Technical Institute, and the Kut Textile Factory.”

Obeid highlighted the exhibition’s purpose: “We aim to showcase the outputs of our training programs and how they have translated into innovative projects by our trainees. The diversity of specialties in this exhibition reflects the broad range of skills being taught to young people and highlights the success stories of trainees who have started their own businesses.”

One of the participants, Zahraa Nizar, shared her experience as a trainee in beekeeping. “I participated today by presenting my products, which include natural honey, pollen, beeswax, propolis in both pill and liquid form, as well as honey vinegar,” Nizar told 964media. “I thank the Directorate of Labor for organizing this exhibition, and I hope to see the training courses expand into other specialties that meet the needs of the job market.”
