Leaders talk economic ties between their countries

Iraqi PM meets Lebanese counterpart to bolster bilateral ties and support Lebanon’s stability

BAGHDAD, September 20 — Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani, reaffirmed Iraq’s support for Lebanon’s stability in overcoming economic challenges during his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The leaders discussed enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen their partnership in various fields. Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s support for Lebanon’s stability and its efforts to overcome economic challenges and the effects of regional and global crises.

Mikati highlighted the importance of opening up to more economic and mutually beneficial investment opportunities, as well as coordinating jointly to face economic challenges, global crises, and climate changes affecting the region.
