Sufwan municipality distributes waste containers to reduce littering

BASRA, September 17 — Sufwan Municipality teams distributed waste containers and bags for waste collection in the agricultural neighborhood on Sunday, in an attempt to reduce the phenomenon of littering in the area.

The official of the third sector, Malik Hanou, told Network 964:

“Today, we distributed 200 containers, along with waste bags for each family.”

“The head of the household signs a receipt after verifying his identification papers.”

“The municipal teams took advantage of this activity to educate families about the importance of compliance and not throwing garbage in the streets.”

“The campaign is ongoing and includes 900 families from the residents of the agricultural neighborhood.”

“This campaign is supposed to prevent residents from disposing of waste in the streets and alleys. What more can we do to prevent waste accumulation on the streets?”
