Demand for Iraqi flags jumps amid incidents in Europe

THI QAR, July 27 — Demand is up for Iraqi flags in Thi Qar governorate following repeated incidents in Europe involving the Quran and flag.

Customers are buying flags of various sizes to raise outside their homes and mosques during the month of Muharram.

Ajeel Jabr, the owner of a bookstore, told 964: “Daily sales of flags have increased significantly, with large quantities of small-sized flags being sold by the dozen.”

Larger-sized flags are in demand byMuharram procession organizers, he said.

Flags measuring 180 x 90 cm are priced at 3,000 dinars, while a dozen small-sized flags cost 2,000 dinars.
