Two cousins killed in motorcycle crash on 60 Meter Road

ERBIL — Two young men died Tuesday afternoon when their motorcycle veered off the road and struck a tree on 60 Meter Road in Erbil, according to a source from the Forensic Medicine Department.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection with Alban Street. “Both the rider and the passenger were killed in the accident,” the source told 964media.

A relative confirmed the identities of the victims as Mohammed Hassan, 18, and Mardin Mohammed, 22 — cousins who were riding together at the time of the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Authorities have not released further details.
