A condition for renewing barbershops' licenses

Kurdistan bans multiple-use folding razors in barbershops

KURDISTAN – The Kurdistan Ministry of Health announced on Monday a ban on the use of multiple-use folding razors in barbershops, requiring the use of single-use disposable razors instead. This measure, aimed at controlling the spread of infectious diseases, will be a prerequisite for renewing barbers’ licenses.

Sarkar Surchi, spokesperson for the Kurdistan Health Ministry, explained that this decision is part of ongoing efforts to manage infectious diseases. “All barbershops must comply with this decision, which will be a condition for renewing their work licenses,” Surchi stated.

The decision has been communicated to all general health directorates in the Kurdistan Region. Ministry monitoring teams will be notified to carry out inspections and ensure compliance in barbershops across the region.
