PM meets CEO of Stellar Energy
Sudani discusses sector development with US energy company
BAGHDAD, September 13 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani announced on Wednesday that his government’s approach to developing the country’s energy industry includes providing more facilities for large companies operating in the sector.
Sudani met with U.S.-based Stellar Energy’s CEO, Peter Gibson, in Baghdad and discussed combined cycle technology that is expected to double electricity production.

The Prime Minister received Mr. Peter Gibson, the CEO of American company Stellar Energy.
During the meeting, he was briefed on the projects undertaken by the company in the electricity sector, emphasizing the government’s interest in expanding combined cycle projects in the electricity production sector, which is a vital priority in the service and developmental program.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani highlighted that the government’s approach includes providing more facilities for large companies operating in the electricity and energy sector, as it is a crucial field on which other economic and service sectors depend.
On his part, Mr. Gibson renewed his company’s commitment to Iraq and its promise to fulfill its obligations.
He expressed the company’s determination to increase production and improve transmission and distribution networks to meet the growing demand for electricity.
