Prime Minister Al-Sudani seeks to ‘remove obstacles’ for Italian companies in Iraq

BAGHDAD – Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani emphasized his government’s commitment to eliminating barriers for Italian companies operating in Iraq on Sunday. This statement was made during a meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Greganti.

The prime minister’s office detailed Al-Sudani’s reception of Ambassador Greganti.

The meeting focused on discussions of bilateral relations and the development of cooperation prospects in various political and economic fields, aimed at benefiting both countries.

Al-Sudani affirmed the government’s dedication to “removing all obstacles that hinder the work of Italian companies in Iraq.” He highlighted the government’s interest in supporting investment and opening avenues for both the local and foreign private sectors.

Ambassador Greganti expressed his government’s interest in developing relations with Iraq and mentioned they are looking forward to a future visit by Al-Sudani to Italy. This visit aims to elevate the level of cooperation and strengthen partnership areas.
