Local company launches Ramadan food distribution campaign
BAGHDAD — In the Kweirish area of southern Baghdad, a local company has transformed one of its warehouses into a center for distributing Ramadan food baskets to individuals in need of support across the capital and other Iraqi cities.
Taza company employees assemble food baskets daily for distribution, sometimes preparing up to a thousand baskets a day. This initiative, spanning the entire month of Ramadan, provides essential items such as rice, lentils, and oil.
An employee involved in the effort told 964media, “We distribute the baskets to the poor and needy in all Iraqi governorates, including Najaf and Karbala, via the Abbasid threshold, mosques, and Husainiyas. The campaign is our way of supporting the poor and needy in all provinces.” The company has set aside a total of 15,000 baskets for distribution throughout Ramadan.
