The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is committed to supporting the workforce

ERBIL, August 27 — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) urged all private sector workers on Sunday to promptly contact the Social Security Directorate and enroll in the insurance program for a better future. This call comes as 3,263 workers have retired or received end-of-service benefits, with the government spending over 56 billion dinars on these processes over the past 4 years.

In a statement from the Department of Media and Information of the Kurdistan Government:

“In line with the rights and interests of workers, the Kurdistan Regional Government is enhancing the implementation of social security for workers. In the tenure of this cabinet, 10,757 projects have been secured, involving 138,092 local and foreign workers, and the process continues.

Mariwan Bakok, the Director of Labor and Social Security, stated to the media:

The worker insurance process covers retirement, compensations, and end-of-service rewards. Workers can benefit from this insurance and receive all their entitlements through bank checks.

Under this government, 3,263 workers have retired through the Social Security Fund, and 56 billion and 226 million dinars in end-of-service rewards from the past seven years have been redistributed to workers over these four years.

The General Director of Labor and Social Security encouraged workers to get in touch with the Social Security departments as soon as possible to secure a better future for themselves.”
