World Wildlife Day

Kurdistan wildlife photography showcased in Erbil exhibition

ERBIL — In Erbil, an exhibition highlighted the wildlife and birds of the Kurdistan Region’s mountains in observance of World Wildlife Day.

The event was a collaborative effort between the Kurdistan Photo Organization and local photographers.

A participant told 964media, “As a photographer specializing in mountain wildlife and birds, I took part in this exhibition to commemorate World Wildlife Day. I’m thankful to the organizers for offering such an essential platform for photographers like us to demonstrate our commitment, showcase our stunning images, and share the extensive efforts we’ve invested in capturing these moments for the audience.”

Another exhibitor mentioned that more than 70 photographers from across the Kurdistan Region submitted their works, but only 23 photographers’ works were selected for display. The goal of such exhibitions is to enhance awareness about the conservation of mountain wildlife and birds.

“The exhibition showcases a wide array of wildlife and birds from Garmiyan, Barzan, Raperin, Zakho, and other regions, highlighting the unique beauty and diversity of the area’s natural habitats,” the exhibitor added.
