Halabja Child Protection Board activates dedicated number
HALABJA — The Halabja Child Protection Board has inaugurated Hotline 116, a service for emergencies related to children within the governorate. This initiative marks the first dedicated hotline for reporting emergencies or issues impacting children.
Dana Hama Sharif, head of the board, said in an interview with 964media, “With the establishment of this hotline, we’ve created a direct channel for citizens to report child welfare concerns, enabling us to promptly address and resolve these issues.”
The hotline is equipped to handle a variety of situations, including threats to children, child abuse, family disputes, and other adverse conditions affecting young individuals.
“Upon receiving a report through the hotline, our board quickly mobilizes a team to manage the situation. This team works in coordination with various sectors throughout the Halabja governorate to effectively address the issue,” Hama Sharif stated.
Currently, the 116 hotline is accessible via Korek Telecom, with plans to expand service to additional networks.
