Due to heavy snowfall

Dozens of tourist buses stranded on Hassan Beg Mountain

SORAN – Many tourist buses are stranded in the snow on Hassan Beg Mountain, especially at the entrance near the Sari Berdi area, following recent heavy snowfall.

These buses, carrying Arab tourists keen on experiencing the snow, are unable to move.

Heman Jaafar, a driver among those stranded, informed 964media, “Around 80 buses are stuck in the snow. We’re seeking assistance to get out.”

Rawend Hawdiyani, spokesperson for Soran Civil Defense, told 964media that the Civil Defense had received no reports of the incident and was thus unaware of the situation.

“We will send our teams with the necessary equipment to clear the road as soon as we’re notified,” Hawdiani said.

Khosrat Sadiq, Director of Soran Road and Transport, mentioned to 964media that a vehicle for clearing snow was sent to Hassan Beg Mountain. Despite these efforts, severe road blockages have kept the buses from leaving. More vehicles have been deployed to spread salt on the roads, aiming to prevent ice formation and keep them open.
