Chess Championship Kicks Off at Family Mall in Erbil

ERBIL, August 13 – The chess championship began on Saturday evening at “Family Mall” under the supervision of the Erbil Chess Club. The competition will continue for 5 days, with a prize worth $1000 at stake.

Mohammed Khalil, the tournament organizer for Network 964:
“Around 1000 players from various Iraqi provinces have registered their names through the “Family Mall” website.”

“The tournament qualifiers take place daily at 4:00 PM and will continue for 5 days, with each match lasting 6 minutes.”

“The first-place winner will receive $1000, the second-place winner $500, and the third-place winner a prize of $200.”

“The tournament follows an individual scoring system, with 4 players advancing to the final competitions.”
