Dukan civil defense conducts fire awareness seminar at local technical institute
SULAYMANIYAH, January 25 — Dukan’s civil defense station organized a fire awareness and prevention seminar for students at a local technical institute on Wednesday.
The seminar aimed to equip students with the knowledge needed to remain calm during fire emergencies and teach skills to control situations and ensure personal safety.
Dean of the Dukan Technical Institute Hemn Abdullah emphasized the significance of raising awareness among students and department monitors. He said the objective of the seminar was to mitigate panic during unexpected fires and empower individuals to effectively manage such situations.
With four residence buildings housing 100 students and 12 supervisors, Abdullah highlighted the institute’s commitment to addressing deficiencies through regular inspections. The institute’s prevention committee actively works to eliminate potential risks, conducting thorough assessments three times a year, Abdullah shared.
Established in 2004, Dukan Technical Institute has five departments, currently catering to over 900 students pursuing various studies.
