Rain and thunderstorms continue, with Duhok at 26°C and Basra at 42°C

BAGHDAD — Scattered light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are forecast across parts of Iraq on Tuesday, with temperatures from 26°C in Duhok to 42°C in Basra and Dhi Qar, the Iraqi Meteorological Organization and Seismology said.

Sulaymaniyah is expected at 29°C, nine governorates in the 30s and seven southern governorates at 40°C or above. Temperatures stay close to Monday’s in the centre and north and rise slightly in the south. Northwesterly winds of 10 to 20 km/h are forecast in the centre and north, with light to moderate southeasterly winds in the south.
