Iraqi football association president invites FIFA president for Iraq visit

BAGHDAD, October 7  — Adnan Darjal, the president of the Iraqi Football Association, invited FIFA President Gianni Infantino to visit Iraq during a meeting between the two in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, on Saturday.

A statement from the Football Association, received by Network 964, reads:

“Adnan Darjal, the president of the Iraqi Football Association, met with Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, today on the sidelines of the Asian Football Confederation’s conference in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.

During the meeting, they discussed the Iraqi and Asian football situations in general. An official invitation was extended to the FIFA president to visit Iraq, and Infantino expressed his pleasure, confirming his intention to accept the invitation as soon as possible.”
