Rocket Attack on Ain Al-Assad Base Injures Iraqi Soldier

BAGHDAD, 21 January — Major General Yahya Rasool, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, reported on Saturday that a rocket attack on the headquarters of the 29th Brigade of the Seventh Division at Ain Al-Assad base resulted in the injury of an Iraqi soldier and damage to the brigade’s headquarters.

Rasool, in a statement to the official agency said:

Several rockets fell near the headquarters of the 29th Brigade of the Seventh Division, which is part of the Al-Jazeera Operations Command within the Iraqi Ain Al-Assad base. The attack caused the injury of an Iraqi soldier and damages to the headquarters of the 29th Brigade. Ain Al-Assad base houses our military units and an Iraqi training camp within the base. The Iraqi security forces, supported by intelligence efforts, will reach the perpetrators and bring them to justice to receive their punishment.
