Report from an international organization

Airstrikes reported overnight hit locations in Erbil and Duhok

ERBIL, January 16 — The Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT) organization reported 13 airstrikes on Erbil on Monday, beginning at 11:30 p.m., along with other strikes in Duhok governorate.

According to CPT member Kamran Osman, his organization recorded a total of 13 ballistic missile strikes by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in Erbil governorate.

He emphasized that the strikes amounted to a breach of Iraqi sovereignty, and that the government has provisions in the constitution, specifically Article 110, which grant it powers for the formation and management of an armed force to protect Iraqi borders.

Elsewhere, in Duhok, CPT reported that Turkish warplanes also bombed Mount Kurazharo in Shiladze district after midnight.
