Al-Sudani and Barzani cancel meetings with Iranian delegation in Davos

ERBIL, January 17 – Leaders from the Government of Iraq and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) have opted to cancel previously planned meetings with the Iranian delegation at this week’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, an advisor close to KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said on Wednesday.

Hemin Lihony, Advisor to Barzani, told 964media that Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani canceled the meetings because of an Iranian missile attack on Erbil this week, which resulted in civilian fatalities, including that of prominent businessman Peshraw Dzeyi.
