Restaurant owner opens terrace to beat the heat and power outages

BAQUBAH, August 6 — The owner of Multaqa Ayam Zaman restaurant in Baqubah has introduced a new open evening terrace on the rooftop of the restaurant as a creative solution to cope with the high temperatures and frequent power outages for extended hours.

Restuarant owner Watheq Al-Dulaimi told 964:

We inaugurated the rooftop hall amid reduced national electricity hours, as the generators are unable to power all the air conditioners. So, we came up with an alternative to address this issue and create a comfortable ambiance for our customers.

The rooftop area provides a more pleasant atmosphere for nighttime dining compared to the indoor spaces. The idea has been well-received by customers and has helped reduce the load on the generator and the need for additional cooling devices.”

Many customers prefer to enjoy their dinner, shisha, and drinks on the restaurant’s rooftop.

The dinner options favored by the residents of Baqubah include “nawashif” dishes such as fried potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, kibbeh, “Al-Aruk,” falafel with smoked yogurt, in addition to tea and soft drinks.
