Karbala clebrated New Year with religious chants
KARBALA, January 1 — Residents of Karbala gathered in Al-Sanatir Street, one of the city’s prominent commercial centers, to celebrate the New Year. The crowds were mixed with processions equipped with large speakers playing religious chants, reflecting the internal debate in the city regarding its religious atmosphere and the desire of the youth to organize some celebratory aspects, similar to other provinces.
