Projects worth more than $27 million
Duhok issues investment licenses to 10 development projects
DUHOK, December 21 — The Duhok Investment Department issued investment licenses to 10 developent projects, worth more than $27 million on Wednesday.
Of the licenses awarded, four commercial projects are valued at $7,662,165, two tourism projects total $2,050,675, two health projects amount to $6,997,600, one educational project is valued at $2,548,690, and two agricultural projects are collectively worth $8,416,080.
Haval Sadiq, chairman of the investment department, told 964, “This year we have issued 29 investment licenses worth more than $104 million and we will continue to do so.”
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) approved 151 investment projects in 2023, the Board of Investment said Tuesday.
The Board’s chairman expounded on the projects, emphasizing their adherence to environmental guidelines, with a keen consideration for increasing green spaces. Investors were also cautioned to factor in the potential impact of earthquakes and other natural catastrophes.
Particular attention was dedicated to the strategic placement of projects in remote areas and tourist destinations. A specific focus was directed towards infrastructure initiatives, encompassing endeavors in the food industry, local wheat and potato marketing, plastic housing, and the exportation of domestic products.
