Partnership between 964media and provincial election Monitoring Alliance

December 15 —

964media, known for its editorial independence and extensive national coverage, has partnered with the Alliance of Networks and National Organizations to provide media coverage for the upcoming Iraqi Provincial Councils elections. The alliance, a coalition of various networks and national organizations committed to monitoring the elections, will leverage 964media’s platform to disseminate key reports nationwide.

Hoger Chato, General Coordinator of Shams Network, highlighted 964media’s selection for this partnership due to its independent editorial stance and wide-reaching coverage across Iraq. This collaboration is set to enhance the quality and reach of reports on the electoral process, backed by approximately 4,000 observers from the alliance.

The alliance has voluntarily committed to monitoring the elections, focusing on over 40% of polling centers in all provinces. A joint operations room has been established for coordinated efforts among member organizations.

The schedule for the release of reports, to be distributed by 964media to various media outlets, is as follows:

Sunday: An initial report on the special voting process will be released at 11 a.m.
Monday: Coverage begins with a report on the opening of polling centers at 8 a.m., followed by a first report on the voting process at 2 p.m. Subsequent reports will cover the closure of polling centers at 7 p.m. and the counting and sorting process at 10 p.m.
Tuesday: An initial report on the general voting day will be published at 11 a.m.

This partnership marks a significant step in ensuring transparent and professional reporting on the Iraqi Provincial Councils elections, contributing to both local and international understanding of Iraq’s electoral processes.
