Erbil FC faces coaching change as Abbas Obeid resigns
ERBIL, December 11 — Walid Arab, President of Erbil Football Club, confirmed to 964 on Sunday that Abbas Obeid had submitted his resignation as the head coach of the club.
“We are considering the resignation, pending a decision from the executive committee,” Arab stated, indicating the need for formal approval.
In response to a challenging season with Erbil FC earning just seven points from eight games, the club is seeking a new coach to succeed Abbas.
The club’s setbacks, marked by a recent 1-4 defeat against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the Iraqi premier league, has intensified discontent among team members, management, and fans.
Calls for change and reform within the club have grown louder, prompting the team’s leadership to move for a swift decision to address the current situation.
