Five northern governorates below 40°C as the centre cools

BAGHDAD — Duhok and Sulaymaniyah are forecast at 36°C on Tuesday, with Erbil and Nineveh at 38°C and Kirkuk 39°C, as temperatures ease across central and northern Iraq while the south holds.

Baghdad and Maysan are expected at 44°C and Basra 45°C. Skies will be generally clear with scattered cloud in the north. Northwesterly winds are forecast at 10 to 20 km/h with calm periods, particularly in the north and east, and visibility of 8 to 10 km falling to 5 to 7 km at night in haze.

Clear weather continues on Wednesday and Thursday, with some cloud in the north and south on Friday.
