Drug traffickers arrested near Sherwana Castle in Kalar

KALAR, November 28 — Authorities in Kalar arrested three suspects near the Sherwana Castle on Monday, with one suspect injured in the operation and taken to an area hospital, according to a security source.

The suspects were reportedly carrying one kilogram of illicit drugs, resulting in the successful arrest of two of them. The third suspect, who sustained injuries, is currently under medical care.

A source from Shahid Hazhar Hospital in Kalar told 964 the injured suspect is undergoing treatment but will be transferred to a hospital in Sulaymaniyah for further care.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding illicit drug activity in the region.
