Power gradually returns to Iraq’s center and south after mass outage

BAGHDAD, July 30 — The Ministry of Electricity announced on Saturday that the power grid is gradually returning to operation, and areas will be gradually reconnected to electricity after a complete outage in the central and southern regions for the past 5 hours.

The ministry’s media office stated in a statement received by 964 Network:

“The power system is gradually being restored by bringing back several generating units and isolated lines, which were disconnected due to unexpected issues, and connecting them back to the national grid. The process of re-supplying electricity to provinces and areas is underway step by step.”
