Three members of one family killed in Raparin crash
RAPARIN — Three people, including a mother and her two children, were killed and two others injured in a rollover on the Rania-Qaladze road near Qurragow village in the Raparin autonomous administration of Sulaymaniyah governorate, local authorities said.
The crash involved a passenger car carrying five people. The vehicle lost control and overturned, resulting in the deaths of the mother and two children at the scene, while two other occupants were injured.
Ali Abdullah, spokesperson for Raparin traffic police, told 964media that preliminary findings indicate the accident was caused by speeding.
“According to the preliminary investigation, the accident occurred due to speeding, and the driver of the car lost control, causing the death of a mother and her two children. The driver and another child were also injured,” Abdullah said.
Rania Hospital emergency services confirmed the casualties and said one of the injured remains in unstable condition.
Authorities have not released further details on the identities of the victims.
