Iraq looks to form partnerships with GCC companies

BAGHDAD, July 31 – Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein said on Monday that Iraq needs Gulf companies’ expertise in various sectors, emphasizing that opportunities for partnerships are open.

In a press conference with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi, Hussein affirmed that “electricity linkage with the Gulf and Saudi Arabia was a major focus of the discussions,” adding that “Iraq encourages the entry of Gulf companies into its territory.”

He further pointed out that “Iraq’s foreign policy is based on developing relations,” and he reiterated that “relations between Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are strong and solid.”
