Two men sentenced to death for killing woman and daughter in home robbery

BAGHDAD — The Karkh Criminal Court has sentenced two men to death for killing a woman and her daughter inside their Baghdad hom.

The Karkh Anti-Crime Directorate said the main suspect was the victim’s nephew, who “exploited the family relationship to enter the house accompanied by his partner.”

The two men killed both victims “in cold blood, driven by greed to steal sums of money and gold jewelry,” then set fire to the house and the bodies in an attempt to make the crime appear accidental.
