Rain to continue in north before gradual clearance through weekend

BAGHDAD — Scattered rainfall will persist in northern Iraq on Wednesday before conditions gradually improve through the weekend, with temperatures rising across most of the country, the meteorological authority said Tuesday.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy in central and southern regions and cloudy with moderate rain in the north. Highs will range from 20°C in Sulaymaniyah and Duhok to 33°C in Dhi Qar and Basra, with Baghdad reaching 29°C. Visibility will be 8–10 km, dropping to 5–7 km during rainfall.

Thursday will be partly cloudy, turning cloudy with scattered showers in the far north, with slight temperature increases in central and northern areas.

Friday will be clear to partly cloudy, turning cloudy in western areas in the afternoon with moderate rain. Temperatures will rise slightly overall.

Saturday is expected to be clear with some cloud cover across the country, with another slight rise in temperatures.
