Light rain, slight temperature drop forecast across Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq is expected to experience light rainfall and a slight decrease in temperatures over the coming days, with noticeable variations between the northern, central and southern regions, according to the General Authority for Meteorology.

In a report issued by its Forecasting Department, the authority said weather conditions will range between generally moderate and locally unstable.

On Sunday, the weather will be mostly clear, with scattered clouds appearing across parts of central and southern Iraq. In the Kurdistan region, conditions will be partly cloudy, accompanied by light rain showers in its northern sections.

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly compared to Saturday in central and southern areas, while remaining close to previous levels in the north.

Winds will be light southeasterly at speeds ranging between 5–10 km/h, with intermittent calm periods and fluctuations. In western parts of central Iraq, winds will shift to northwesterly, light to moderate, at speeds between 10–20 km/h.

Horizontal visibility will range between 8–10 kilometers, decreasing to 5–7 kilometers in areas affected by haze.
