Clear to cloudy skies forecast across Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s General Authority for Meteorology said Saturday that weather conditions across the country will range from clear to cloudy, with chances of rainfall in the Kurdistan Region.

In its daily report, the authority said central and southern cities will see clear to partly cloudy skies, while northern areas will be partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of moderate rain showers.

Snowfall is expected on mountainous areas. Fog is also likely to form.

The authority said temperatures will rise by several degrees in central and southern regions, with a slight increase in the north. Nighttime conditions are expected to remain very cold across all cities.

Winds will be light to moderate from the southeast at speeds of 10 to 20 kilometers per hour, occasionally becoming calm, according to the report.

Horizontal visibility is forecast to range between 5 and 7 kilometers due to haze and increased pollution levels in the morning. Visibility may drop to less than 1 kilometer in fog-affected areas before gradually improving later in the day.
