Iraq’s bodybuilding team wins 13 medals on day one of World Championship
NEWSROOM – Iraq’s national bodybuilding team secured 13 medals on the opening day of the World Bodybuilding Championship in Saudi Arabia, the Iraqi Bodybuilding Federation said Sunday. In its statement, the federation said the team earned “6 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze,” describing the results as an impressive start for the delegation.
According to the federation, first-place finishes were claimed by Mushtaq Al-Azzawi, Hamid Al-Juwari, Dana Hussein, Haider Kazem, Hussein Khalid and Ammar Al-Mashhadani. Silver medals went to Fahd Hafidh, Amer Sobhi and Omed Saleh. Third place was achieved by Nasr Al-Isawi, Amer Sobhi Mohammed, Saadoun and Haider Mohammed. Muayad Sami and Moamen Basim placed fifth, while Haider Adnan finished sixth.
Federation president and head of the Iraqi delegation Faez Abdul Hassan praised the team’s performance, saying he was impressed by “the technical level shown by the players.” He added that “the results achieved confirm their readiness and ability to compete,” expressing confidence that the team will win more medals by the end of the championship.
