Clear, cold conditions continue across Iraq as high-pressure system settles in
BAGHDAD — Most parts of Iraq saw clear and stable weather on Tuesday as a high-pressure system settled over the country, the meteorological authority said.
The department reported scattered clouds over parts of the northern region, particularly in the Kurdistan Region, where dense fog formed in the early hours.
Temperatures were similar to Monday in central Iraq, slightly higher in the north, and slightly lower in the south. Conditions remained cold in the morning and at night, and moderate during the daytime.
Winds were northwesterly, light to moderate at 10 to 20 km/h, and calm at times in northern areas.
Horizontal visibility generally ranged between 8 and 10 kilometers but dropped to less than 1 kilometer in fog-affected northern districts before improving later in the morning. In other regions, light mist reduced visibility to between 5 and 7 kilometers.
