Iraq’s Electoral commission to announce preliminary election results Wednesday evening

BAGHDAD – Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission said Wednesday it will release preliminary results of the 2025 parliamentary elections by governorate during an official press conference scheduled for the evening.

The commission said final results will be issued once all counting procedures are completed and will remain open to appeal before the judicial electoral authority.

“We will announce the preliminary results for party alliances and individual lists, broken down by governorate,” the commission said in a statement.

IHEC also confirmed it continues to receive election-related complaints until the end of the official workday on Nov. 12, after which classification and resolution procedures will begin.

Earlier Wednesday, the commission said it had received 48 complaints related to the elections, including 39 from the special voting phase and nine from the general vote.
