Artists showcase their perspective on peace

Baghdad art festival showcases solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza

BAGHDAD, November 2 — The Ministry of Culture in Baghdad organized an art festival in solidarity with the Palestinian people, titled “We Are All Gaza.” The festival featured volunteer artists from various cities in Iraq who depicted the hardships faced by civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Ali Awaid, Director of the Arts Department at the Ministry, stated, “The festival is a mural of artistic solidarity with the Palestinian people, with the participation of many volunteer artists from various Iraqi governorates, as an expression of the rejection of any form of destruction.”

Bilal Bashir, a visual artist, emphasized, “The artworks expressed the solidarity of the Iraqi people with the Palestinians in Gaza, especially with the children whose rights are violated in this ongoing conflict and who endure daily bombings.”

Saba Mahmoud, another visual artist, explained, “The collection of drawings presented reflects the events in Gaza and offers another perspective on peace. Art about Palestine does not merely reflect the horrors occurring there but also continues to depict its beauty in the eyes of others.”
